2. Purpose of this policy
This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit our website or contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have.
It applies to sellabazar.com in both its French and English versions.
The processing of personal data in the Republic of Guinea is governed by Law L/2016/037/AN on cyber-security and the protection of personal data.
3. The data we collect
3.1 Data you give us
Our website has no contact form and does not allow orders to be placed online. You only give us data if you choose to message or call us.
By WhatsApp: your telephone number, the display name on your WhatsApp account, and the content of your messages.
By telephone: your number and whatever you tell us during the call, such as your name, your neighbourhood, or the item you are interested in.
By email: your email address and the content of your message.
You decide what you tell us. Please do not send us sensitive information that we do not need in order to answer you.
3.2 Data collected automatically
When you visit the site, certain technical information is collected automatically:
- your IP address;
- the type of device, operating system and browser you use;
- the pages you view, and the date, time and length of your visit;
- the website, search engine or advertisement that brought you to our site;
- your approximate region, derived from your IP address.
We do not use this information to identify you by name.
4. Why we use this data
We use the data described above to:
- answer your questions about our products, prices and stock availability;
- arrange a delivery or prepare an in-store collection;
- understand how our site is used and improve it;
- measure how well our advertising performs;
- show our advertisements to people likely to be interested in our products.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
A cookie is a small file placed on your device when you visit a website. We use cookies and comparable technologies, including measurement tags provided by third parties.
Necessary cookies: these allow the site to work, for example by remembering whether you are viewing the French or English version. The site cannot function properly without them.
Analytics cookies: these tell us how many people visit the site, which pages they view, and how they arrived. This information is aggregated and is not used to identify you.
Advertising cookies: these let us measure the results of our advertising on Facebook, Instagram and Google, and show our advertisements to people who have already visited our site.
You can refuse or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you refuse necessary cookies, parts of the site may not work properly.
You can also control personalised advertising directly with the platforms concerned, through the advertising settings in your Facebook or Instagram account and the advertising settings in your Google account.
6. Sharing your data
We share your data only with the providers needed to run the website and our business:
- Meta Platforms, for WhatsApp and for delivering and measuring our advertising on Facebook and Instagram;
- Google, for website analytics, our business profile and, where applicable, delivering and measuring our advertising;
- our hosting provider, which makes the site available on the internet;
- our delivery drivers, to whom we give only the address and telephone number needed for the delivery.
We may also disclose data where Guinean law requires it, or to protect our rights.
When you message us on WhatsApp, your conversation is also subject to WhatsApp's own privacy policy, over which we have no control.
7. Transfers outside Guinea
The providers listed above are established outside the Republic of Guinea, including in Europe and the United States. Your data may therefore be processed and stored in those countries, where data protection law may differ from that applicable in Guinea.
8. How long we keep data
We keep WhatsApp messages and emails for as long as we need them to answer your enquiry and support your purchase, and then for as long as our accounting and legal obligations require.
Analytics and advertising data is retained for the periods set by the platforms concerned.
9. Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you;
- correct information that is inaccurate;
- delete your data, where we are not required to keep it;
- stop using your data for advertising purposes.
Email sellabazars@gmail.com or call +224 611 18 78 85. We respond within a reasonable time and may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.
10. Security
We take reasonable measures to protect the data we hold. As no system is entirely secure, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Third-party sites
Our site contains links to third-party services, including WhatsApp and Google Maps. We are not responsible for the content or the privacy practices of those services.
12. Children
Our site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data about children. If you believe a child has sent us data, write to us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
We may amend this policy. The version in force is the one published on this page, together with its update date.
